As a teenager, David spent much of his time sailing, water skiing, and fishing on Lake Waco. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, he received a Thistle from a family friend on generous terms and moved to Dallas with the boat in tow, finding Rush Creek soon after.
David and his wife Caren have been RCYC members for over 30 years, sailing Thistles, J/24s, and Scows. This is David's second term as Treasurer, having previously served in the role from 2017 to 2019. He also served as Club Commodore in 2020.
David and Caren have two children: Kyle, a writer and producer for television in New York City, and Alyssa, a graphic designer in Dallas.
