ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

The MCSA National Championship is an MCSA sanctioned event and is open to skippers of MC Scows who are current members of MCSA. Each skipper must meet trophy age requirements on or before June 15, 2023. Non-MCSA members will be scored DNC for all races.   

All boats must comply with the Class Rules prior to the preparatory signal of the first scheduled race and at all times while racing in the event. A boat may sail with a different sail number from its hull number if it registers with that sail number and competes with the same sail number for the entire event.

Eligible boats may enter by joining the class at MCSA Membership, by completing required information at the event page at 2023 MCSA National Championship, and by paying the appropriate entry fee prior to June 15, 2023.

Each skipper must declare his/her age and will compete in the associated division.
a. Open - 25 - 49 years
b. Master - 50 - 59 years
c. Grand Master - 60 - 69 years
d. Mega Master - 70 -74 years
e. Old Salt - 75 years or older
f. Youth - under 25 years
g. Woman
h. Single Handed – The single-handed MC Classification means you are promising, before the event starts, to sail single handed for the entire regatta. Skippers registering with the single-handed classification MAY NOT TAKE A CREW IN ANY RACE.

Food and beverage purchases:  RCYC is not equipped for cash purchases of food and beverages for this regatta.  However, reciprocal charges and credit cards are welcome for non-member food and beverage purchases by establishing an account at the time of registration check-in at the club.

Alcohol policy:  The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) requires that all alcoholic beverages consumed at the clubhouse, pool area, and surrounding grounds be purchased from the club.  Alcoholic beverages purchased from RCYC may not be taken beyond the surrounding grounds, indicated by signs.  A three-day TABC membership will be available to age-appropriate non-club members at the time of registration check-in for $5.00.

The legal and responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages purchased elsewhere is acceptable in the parking lot and on boat docks.  Regatta participants and guests agree to comply with state and local laws regarding the consumption of alcoholic beverages and agree to accept all related risks.
